This project explores looking at humanity from a cosmic scale, and understanding what it truly means to be Human in an inhuman, eerily quiet universe.
Using interviews with astrophysicists and microbiologists about Humanity as verbal guides, I have created a series of ten illustrations mapping out humanity from our bacterial origins to our cautiously optimistic vision of the future.
Through these illustrations, I intend to “de-alienate” the notions of metaphysics and astrophilosophy, making these weird complex concepts feel familiar and easily digestible.
Using vibrant colours and pop visual language, this project blends the worlds of art and science and offers a different means of consuming information. It questions and answers our ideas of existence, purpose, and origin.
